Full Denshattack! button layout for PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. The PS5 layout mirrors the Xbox layout with L2/R2 replacing LT/RT and left/right sticks in the same positions.
| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| L2 | Drift Hold to initiate and maintain drift. Release at corner exit for boost. The most important input in the game โ master drift timing before anything else. |
| R2 | Jump Tap for a low hop. Hold longer for maximum height โ needed to reach upper lanes and hidden charms. Charge then release for best air time for tricks. |
| Left Stick | Lane Switch / Steer Push left or right to switch between rail lanes. Lane switches mid-combo don't break the multiplier as long as the stick is neutral during the switch frame. |
| Right Stick | Tricks (Tricktionary) Flick in different directions while airborne to perform tricks. Only works in air state โ grounded flicks do nothing. LEFT = Kickflip, RIGHT = Heelflip, quarter-circle forward = Shuvit, half-circle down = Impossible, three-quarter circle = 360 Flip, full 360 = Finger Kick 540. |
| L2 + Left Stick | Double Drift / Ultradrift Hold L2 to drift, then add left stick input while still drifting to chain a second drift. Maintains speed through S-curves and multiple corners โ the core technique for gold timing medals. |
| R2 + Wall | Wallride Trick Jump with R2 into a wall surface then flick the right stick. Only activates on designated wallride surfaces. Advanced tier. |
| L1 | Honk Your train's horn. Certain environmental elements respond to honk inputs โ including the MOA dare (trick over Moai Heads). Also used for style during runs. |
| R1 | Grind Switch Switch rails while grinding without breaking your combo. Essential on rail-rich sections to extend grind time and bridge to the next jump opportunity. |
| Right Stick on landing | Manual Flick right stick forward or back on landing to enter manual. Prevents combo reset on flat ground between ramps. Essential for chaining tricks across multiple sections. |
| Pause / Tricktionary Opens the pause menu. Access the in-game Tricktionary from here to review trick inputs mid-session. |
Denshattack! supports DualSense haptic feedback on PS5. Drift sections, trick landings, and boss hits are reported to have distinct haptic patterns. Specific DualSense feature details update as community confirms them post-launch.
If you're used to the Xbox layout from the demo or guides, the feel is identical โ L2 and R2 on DualSense have the same trigger travel as LT/RT on Xbox. Your muscle memory from Xbox will transfer directly. Drift timing is the same on both platforms.
The right stick trick system uses directional flicks and circle motions โ not button presses. If tricks aren't registering, check that you're fully airborne before inputting and that your right stick isn't drifting (increase deadzone sensitivity in PS5 settings if needed).
