Full Denshattack! keyboard layout for PC. Important: the developers recommend a controller for trick inputs โ keyboard mapping for right stick tricks is significantly harder than analogue stick motions.
Denshattack!'s trick system uses right stick directional flicks and circle motions โ quarter circles, half circles, and full rotations. These map awkwardly to keyboard keys. The developers specifically recommend a controller. Hardcore tier tricks (full 360 rotation = Finger Kick 540) are very difficult on keyboard. Use a controller if you have one โ any Xbox or PlayStation controller works on PC.
Default bindings โ exact keys update as community confirms post-launch. Keys are remappable in settings.
| Key(s) | Action |
|---|---|
| Shift or Z | Drift Hold to initiate drift. The single most important input โ master timing before anything else. Release at corner exit for boost. Key TBC |
| Space | Jump Tap for low hop. Hold longer for maximum height. Charge then release for best trick air time. Key TBC |
| A D or โ โ | Lane Switch / Steer Left/right to switch between rail lanes. Lane switches mid-combo don't break multiplier. Key TBC |
| โ โ โ โ (numpad / arrow keys) | Tricks โ Basic Directions Basic trick inputs mapped to cardinal directions while airborne. LEFT = Kickflip equivalent, RIGHT = Heelflip equivalent. Must be airborne โ no effect on ground. Key TBC |
| Numpad combos | Tricks โ Advanced (Very Difficult) Quarter-circle, half-circle, and full rotation inputs for Intermediate/Advanced/Hardcore tricks. These require quick sequential key presses to simulate stick motions โ significantly harder than analogue. Hardcore tricks (540) are extremely difficult on keyboard. Key TBC |
| H or Q | Honk Train horn. Environmental interactions and MOA dare. Key TBC |
| E or R | Grind Switch Switch rails while grinding. Key TBC |
| Esc or P | Pause / Tricktionary Opens pause menu. Access in-game Tricktionary from here. Key TBC |
On keyboard, focus exclusively on Basic tier tricks (cardinal direction inputs) for your score runs. Intermediate and Advanced tricks require sequential key combos that are error-prone mid-run. A consistent run of Kickflip/Heelflip equivalents beats a failed 360 Flip attempt every time.
The default bindings are a starting point โ rebind to whatever feels natural. Many keyboard players prefer WASD for movement and arrow keys for trick directions, keeping hands separate. Others prefer a single-hand numpad layout. Experiment in the Trick Park before committing.
The Finger Kick 540 (full 360 rotation) is exceptionally difficult on keyboard โ it requires a rapid full circular key sequence. If you're attempting the 540 dare on keyboard, practice the key sequence until it's automatic before attempting on the halfpipe. Most keyboard players skip this dare until they acquire a controller.
